Training services Rather than offering canned, one-size-fits-all courses, we consult with you to assess your training needs, helping you to set realistic training objectives. We work closely with you as we design courses that will enable your employees to use English effectively as they perform their jobs. We customize our training materials for your workplace, finding that the best results are obtained when trainees can relate to the material they are using. All training is conducted at your site and is available only to your designated employees. We do not offer seminars open to the public. We offer only live, instructor-led training, using few if any PowerPoints. We provide training material in hard copy and, on request, in soft copy. We custom-design all our courses, selecting style and content to achieve the results you need. After consulting with you, we write a brief proposal, including all estimated costs, for your review. For most types of training, we recommend a group size of six to twelve. We're happy to provide contact information for references. Writing courses can include: Quickly writing e-mail that is to the point, correct, and scannable Writing technical reports and documentation Communicating technical information to non-specialists Business writing (such as for sales, HR, customer service) Writing for academic journals Writing material that will be translated (see also Writing Globally) Speaking courses can include: Presentations Pronunciation and intonation Making conversation Participating in and managing meetings Talking about yourself and your accomplishments Answering questions effectively Coaching We also offer one-to-one coaching programs for individual employees. These programs can focus on use of written English, spoken English, or a combination. Clientele At present, most of the people we train work in software, biotech, or financial services. Approximately one-third are native speakers of English. As trained linguists, our instructors are ready to work with people from any language or cultural background. We have extensive experience training speakers of Arabic, Cantonese, Dutch, Farsi, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Indonesian, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese, and the major languages of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
